The Ultimate Cool-toned Palette?
Rubab Aftab, Senior Beauty Editor
Hello everyone! Rubab here! I am finally back after my little hibernation season (it’s pretty cold, you know!) In the few weeks that I was away, there have been a rainfall of different palettes from different brands. I honestly have no idea how to keep up with these launches nowadays. However, there was this one palette that caught my attention, and this was the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde.

After a few weeks of little teasers, Huda Kattan brought forward another palette. Usually, Huda’s eyeshadow palettes are catered towards Asian and more Middle Eastern tones. But, this time, she gave us all a surprise as she introduced a cool-toned palette. She finally heard all her cool-toned followers’. This is good news for all those followers out there!
Is this is the ultimate cool-toned eyeshadow palette of 2019? Let’s find out.
This is what Huda’s official website says about her palette:
“Embark on a new journey through space with the HUDA BEAUTY Mercury Retrograde eyeshadow palette.
This palette will take you to infinity and beyond with 18 incredible galactic inspired colors and textures to deliver infinite possibilities.”
In the details we can find this:
“The carefully-curated palette is filled with easy-to-use combinations—from dusty coppers, rosy pinks, golden taupe tones with pops of purple and blue. The palette features a cosmic blend of whimsical fantasy like shades, balancing cool and warm tones to complement the best of the intergalactic world.
The pallet features nine buttery mattes, six high-shine creamy metallics saturated with electrifying pearls, one glitter powder charged with glass pearls and silver sparkles, and two sheer multi-reflective shadows for a multidimensional glow.”

Final Verdict
In terms of variations in color, you will get all your favorite nudes, pinks, greens, and golds in this one of a kind palette. You can create some everyday looks with it and even add a touch of glam whenever you feel. For those of you who are fond of light and teal greens, which are a little challenging to find, they would love the shades, Mercury and Haze. For the purple eyeshadow fans, we have Ultraviolet and Nebula. The rest of the shades look promising for everyday use as well as transition shades to create all the “Mercury Retrograde” looks. The palette retails for $67, and you can get free shipping if you buy it from Sephora. This is in-line with Huda’s other palettes, which have always been around $65. Should you get the palette or not? This is something that totally depends upon your preferences in terms of eyeshades. Some people feel more comfortable with more earthy-tones, and some like warm-toned eyeshadows best. On the contrary, there are others who think that cool-tones eyeshades suit them best. If you are one of them, then this palette is carefully crafted for you!
